Kentucky NPR member stations recently highlighted Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation’s RAISE program, which is creating career pathways for eastern Kentucky residents while addressing critical healthcare workforce shortages.
Through clinical, administrative and behavioral health training, participants can advance into roles ranging from certified medical assistants to nurse practitioners. More than 200 of MCHC’s 600 employees have participated, and the program is expanding to include pathways for certified autism specialists, doulas and dental assistants.
The RAISE program was funded in part through ACH’s Entrepreneur Challenge grant program, supported by UnitedHealthcare Community & State. By investing in people who already live in and understand the communities they serve, MCHC is building a stronger local workforce and expanding access to high-quality care across rural Kentucky.
