National Call-In Day

Protect the Future of Primary Care

Take Action Now

Time is Running Out for Critical Health Center Funding

Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government until January 30, 2026. This short-term funding includes the Community Health Center Fund (CHCF), National Health Service Corps (NHSC), and Teaching Health Centers Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) were included in this CR—meaning that critical health center and primary care workforce funding expires Jan. 30th.

Without immediate action from Congress, health centers could face disruptions in care for the nearly 34 million patients they serve each year.

Advocate Call Script:
Hello, my name is [advocate name], and I am from [health center name] Community Health Center in [city/town]. I’m calling to tell the [Senator/Representative] to reauthorize and reinvest in the Community Health Center Fund, the National Health Service Corps, and the Teaching Health Centers Graduate Medical Education program. These are foundational supports to our nation’s largest primary care network, community health centers. Additionally, I call on [Senator/Representative] to:

  • Increase the Community Health Center Fund to $7.87 billion annually for three years, and;
  • Reinvest in our nation’s Primary Care Workforce, including $950 million per year for the National Health Service Corps, and $300 million per year for the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program.

This funding will ensure health centers or FQHCs can fulfill their mission of providing services to rural and critically underserved populations, including veterans, older adults, and working families.

I ask [Senator/Representative] to do everything possible to support community health centers and the primary care workforce. Can you please pass my message along?

Thank you, I appreciate your help.
