Health center leaders will discuss how 340B savings expand access to affordable medications and essential patient services—and how proposed changes could threaten care.

WASHINGTON — Advocates for Community Health (ACH), a national nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing community health centers, will host a congressional briefing, “The 340B Program: A Lifeline for Community Health Centers,” on Wednesday, July 29, from noon to 1 p.m.

Health center leaders will share how the 340B Drug Pricing Program helps make lifesaving medications more affordable and enables health centers to reinvest savings in services that patients and communities rely on, including mobile and school-based clinics, telehealth, behavioral health and access to care in rural communities.

The Capitol Hill briefing comes at a pivotal moment for the program, as Congress considers legislative reforms and the Administration prepares to implement a 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program that could disrupt health centers’ access to savings, impose significant administrative costs and make it harder for patients to obtain affordable medications.
