More than 800 community health center executives and primary care association leaders from across the country joined Advocates for Community Health in urging Congress to protect and stabilize Medicaid. The letter warned that broad reductions in Medicaid coverage or funding could strain state budgets, threaten health center services, lead to job losses and worsen access to care in rural and underserved communities. While acknowledging lawmakers’ interest in reducing administrative and inefficient spending, the signers called for a targeted approach developed in collaboration with community health centers to preserve Medicaid as a reliable source of coverage and support for patients and providers.
