ACH submitted comments on CMS’s proposed Marketplace Integrity and Affordability rule, warning that several provisions could increase costs and reduce access to coverage for community health center patients. ACH urged CMS not to change the premium adjustment calculation or widen actuarial-value ranges, arguing that these policies could raise premiums and out-of-pocket expenses. The organization also opposed shortening the annual open enrollment period and eliminating the special enrollment period for people with incomes at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. ACH emphasized that coverage losses and less-generous insurance plans would create financial hardship for working families while placing additional pressure on health centers required to serve patients regardless of their ability to pay.
