Advocates for Community Health, on behalf of our health center members and the patients they serve, is deeply disappointed in today’s vote by the House to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1). We are alarmed by the potential consequences of this legislation, which threatens to hinder health centers’ ability to address chronic conditions, offer substance abuse and mental health treatment, and provide other essential services that support the health of Americans. Community health centers are the cornerstone of the nation’s health care safety net, and we believe that this vote has significantly weakened that safety net, putting the well-being of the country at risk.

After the law is signed, we are committed to working alongside lawmakers to ensure that health centers receive the resources necessary to continue providing high-quality care to the rural and at-risk communities that depend on them.
